Melting temperature

Melting temperature is the temperature at which the crystalline solid makes transition to the liquid state. At the melting temperature the substance can be both in liquid and in solid state. When supplying additional heat the substance transfers into the liquid state and the temperature does not change until all substance in the considered system melts.

Mixtures of substances do not have a definite melting temperature and make transition to the liquid state in some range of temperatures.
